We visited Bar Harbor in 1992 on an automobile trip exploring the coasts of Maine and New Hampshire. Friday we were ferried in from the ship, which was anchored in the harbor. Bar Harbor is both quaint and commercial. We had signed up for a bus tour of Acadia National Park, but one that would allow us some time in town once the tour was over.
We motored through Bar Harbor to Acadia National Park and the 27-mile Park Loop Road that took us to Cadillac Mountain. The weather and the scenery were wonderful. Here are a few pics from our ferry trip from the boat to Bar Harbor, and our bus tour through Acadia National Park.

Our first order of business when the tour ended back in Bar Harbor was lunch. We spied this little restaurant across from the little park and hustled ourselves in. We got a seat by the front window looking out at the park and, in the distance, our ship. Very good food, a little wine, and we were ready to hit some of the tourist stores on the main drag.
Shopped out and ready to head back to the ship, we grabbed one of the tenders heading back. We relaxed on our verandah for awhile and watched the last tenders arrive back at the ship, then headed for the late-afternoon wine tasting we were quickly becoming accustomed to. We really enjoyed our second visit to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park.
